We lost power 3 times in the past year for several days each, and hated the loss of food that went with it, so we decided to get a portable generator. After much searching and investigating, we went with the Champion 41311.

Delivery occurred in the time frame that was indicated, and the driver helped me lift the generator out of the box for inspection so that the box wouldn't be destroyed. The box itself looked good, and I could see no dents, bangs, or bruises on the generator itself. A quick review of the contents seemed to indicate that all the parts were there.

A few days later, I assembled the generator. All parts were, in fact, there, and it took less than an hour. I put in the provided oil, put in some gas, and it started right up. To my surprise, it wasn't as loud as I expected, certainly quieter than my lawn tractor. I only did one quick test on the two standard 120V outlets, by plugging in our leaf blower, and that worked just fine.

I'm giving this 4 stars right now, only because I haven't really tested it under heavier load conditions. If it holds up like I think it will, I'll modify this to a 5. But for now, so far, very good.
